Another meh episode. It had the potential to be a good episode (never going to be great with this Doctor IMO), but became repetitive very quickly - how many times can you traverse the same set of stairs before giving up? At least 7 apparently (yawn). The half baked Cyberman was interesting, though you'd assume since he is neither fully Cyber-converted nor insane that he was a sociopath in his previous life (considering he slit the throats of his children). Why the Doctor would give up the cyberium after hearing Jack's warning - if Shelley could use it to hide, surely the Doctor could too (though I was kind of hoping that this would mark the end of this Doctor). In all this episode was a pale imitation of "Hide" with the series "Heroes" thrown in. I would rate this episode 2.5/5.
As for Jack, I would hope to see him again, possibly in the last episode. I think the Ruth Doctor is from a first set of regenerations (with the current Doctor from a 3rd set), from the beginning of Gallifrey's time travel experiments (think when the 7th Doctor implied he was there when the Hand of Omega, a stellar manipulator, was created, so perhaps she is related to the Timeless Child. As for the Master, I wonder if he has again sided with the Cybermen (he has sided with them on occassion at least twice I can think of off the top of my head) to further his own goals of conquest, and as per usual things have gotten away from him.

Ho hum, I've seen better haunted house tv on The Munsters.

The actors apart from Graham babble their lines and are usually incomprehensible especially Jodie. Loud background music distracts from the plot, what there is of it.

Any chance of bringing back Capaldi ? At least he has a presence.

Well again a below average episode, but I have noticed that I am starting to get interested in the story at the very beginning ,, until Jodie, the junkie and and the wooden hat stand show up, then it all starts to become tedious again, I have watch Dr, who for as long as I can remember , I even tried to tolerate the garbage of the nineteen eighties ,, but with this doctor, this producer, this politicaly correct tripe, I truly fear for the shows future,, and the dumb arses on whovians don't help with there,, every thing is great attitude ,, fingers crossed someone at the BBC will grow a set and make the Doctor great again. ( not holding my breath )

Yes, its clear that no matter how much I try to 'reverse the polarity,' it seems I will be the outlier when it comes to this Dr's run and the quality of the episodes. I thought this was a great episode. I like the fact that the episodes inform as well as entertain which very few of the previous seasons achieved - Vincent and the Dr being pretty much the sole standout. I loved the creepy new incomplete Cyber and the more I see of Jodie the more I like her take on the role. Another 4/5 rating from me. Can't get enough of this new season and 13. She is now my second favorite Dr after the legendary 4. As for the ratings demise, well, the base started to drop when 11 took over and fell more sharply under 12 when Moffatt got all self indulgent with way too complex plot lines. So, I don't think its fair to blame it just on the heads of the current crop.

I enjoyed this episode in spite of the Doctor taking away Mary Shelley's agency to write her own works.

So why did the Dr nag her companions to dress correctly and then show her calves like a Georgian floozy? I would have prefered the Dr whinging about having to cover her legs.

Graham is still the best thing, wich reinforces to me that after 56 years and 3 months of the show the default for a male Dr is too ingrained. I think the mistake is in the Dr's character - she should be more middle-class Victorian steam punk adventuress with a pith helmet and a Doctory attitude.
