Who knows - especially with this lot here, they seem to "forget" or overlook certain facts that were previously established. I had hoped (once) that we would find out that the current Doctor wasn't actually the Doctor but Jenny (or Susan). Though Jenny would explain Ruth (Jenny being essentially a female clone of the Doctor, might read on the sonic as having the same body). Oh well, we can live in hope (after all, they finally brought Jack back).

KRSPDS, we are having the same thought, I was hoping this Doctor was actually Romana , back from espace and having memory issues because of the trauma of crossing from espace into regular space. But I think sadly that would be to smart for Chip to come up with.
