What's good TV at the moment? The second episode of Blood + Thunder: The Sound Of Alberts, tonight at 8:30pm on ABC. It looks at one of Australia's most durable rock bands AC/DC and their legendary front man Bon Scott. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/programs/blood-thunder-the-sound-of-alberts/

Worth a look tonight is Arthur & George on ABC at 8:30pm. It's a 3 part story loosely based on fact about Arthur Conan Doyle creator of Sherlock Holmes.

Yes, it's based on a book, which was loosely based on the criminal case of George Edalji. Looking forward to it.

Was excellent. Wish there were more of these type Aus music docos on the ABC - they do them so well. Especially enjoyed the footage of Bon and the boys wandering the streets of London in high spirits and the snippets of interviews with Bon that I haven't seen before. Wild as he was, Bon seemed to be a lovely, friendly, down to earth soul - touching that he used to ask for everyone's address and write to them for years afterwards.

I enjoyed that, best thing that Martin Clunes has done in ages. Looking foward to the second episode.

I enjoyed it too. I love Martin Clunes in anything. PS- Since I've been doing my family tree, I realised that one line of my family was living in the Great Wyrley area of Staffordshire at that time. I guess they would have known all about it.

I always enjoy Martin in anything he does too. Someone once expressed dislike because he was so churlish and grumpy. He/she obviously didn't realise he was playing the part of the grumpy Doc Martin. As himself he is a joy to watch. Did you watch him in "Man and Beast" recently? He was in his element witht four dogs a number of horses which he rides, and a couple of gorgeous Clydesdales with which he works on his farm in Dorset. He was also seen in other countries, thrilled at being able to stroke a tiger, feed and ride an elephant and help the mahout to scrub it in the water, and feed and pat a rhino, etc. In all of this he just couldn't stop smiling, he was enjoying himself so much. I missed part 1 so I hope it is repeated so I can see it all again.

You
forgot to mention Men Behaving Badly.
Perhaps its time for a sequel, Old Men Behaving Badly?

On Insiders this morning they showed this one: "Our video editor Huw Parkinson has sent former PMs Rudd and Gillard to detention to work out their differences." http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-05/the-breakfast-clubbing-season/6595760

Why is the ABC so obsessed with Rudd & Gillard ? They are both history and should be forgotten ASAP.

Absolutely brilliant. Definitely trumps any Australian political parody I've seen so far.

Because they dream of what could have been. Considering what we have today, who can blame them?

Any love for 'Glitch' on tonight ? Back from the dead zombies. Could be another job creation scheme for left wing basket weavers at the ABC? Back from the dead zombies has been done two or three times already. I'm a sucker for anything new, have set the betamax to stun.

I must admit that I was sceptical but Glitch was better than I expected.
Looking
forward to the next episode.

Yes, actually very well done. Not quite as good as The Returned but still well worth watching.

back from the dead has been done. it gets lame real fast. It looks like they have a copy of 'Real Humans' coming as well. Ok i know we are a nation of convicts and thus from the shallow end of the gene pool, But seriously does anyone in the yarts in australia have an original idea???

Max I think the problem is not with the writers, but with the bean counters at the ABC. The production companies are pitching proven ideas that are easier to sell to Auntie’s programmers. Thanks to Abbott’s budget cuts, they are less willing to take risks on new ideas, that’s why they are dishing up mediocre crap like Dirty Laundry Live. Despite that I think Glitch is OK.

I really enjoyed Glitch, so much that I'm tempted to watch the whole lot on Iview. The woman who plays the doctor looked so familiar to me, and then I remembered she was on Midsomer Murders.
