One of the Key Facts from that article:

"It takes nearly a million Earth years to orbit its sun so it has completed less than 50 orbits over its lifetime."

That's a long time between Christmas parties !  :P

Good News and Cure Creatures, how can you go wrong ?

A falcon egg stolen from its nest in Chile to be trafficked to Dubai has now been returned to its mother, hatched as a chick.

The baby peregrine falcon, worth tens of thousands of dollars, was almost smuggled to the other side of the world in the UAE by a confessed wildlife trafficker.

Bloody Americans, always claiming to be the first to discover things.  It's generally been accepted for at least 20 years that humans caused Australian megafauna extinction, either directly through hunting or indirectly through changing the nature of the landscape with burning.  The two Australian scientists most closely related with this research are Tim Flannery (who wrote a book about it when employed by the Australian Museum. Name of the book: The Future Eaters) and Professor Mike Archer (of Riverleigh fossil fame at UNSW).

Thorium reactors. Another opportunity that will no doubt pass us by.

Pity about cold fusion, but I think people are still working on that.

The Sky Is Falling !

A man in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu has been killed by a meteorite, Indian authorities say.

The impact of the object left a 1.5-metre crater in the ground, according to local media, and shattered window panes in a nearby building, killing the man who was walking past and injuring three others.

The object weighed only 11 grams.
