Hi all! Sorry I've been MIA lately - fell sick a couple of weeks ago, and am very busy with uni, and will be for a few more weeks. I'll post a 'review catchup' of the latest 3 episodes on Saturday, then as the next 3 are a three-parter, I'll wait until they're all finished before reviewing them together as one story.

As for Oxygen, I must have watched a completely different episode than most other people here did! I really enjoyed it, and is the best episode of the series for me so for. Standout scene was when Bill was in the airlock and had moments to prepare herself for the vacuum of space. Great stuff. I liked that the Doctor stayed blind too - all too often the show never has lasting consequences, so it was good to see some.

As for Knock Knock, it was what Hide from 2013 should have been, in that it didn't completely change it's tone halfway through. It's still pretty average though, and I was very annoyed that all Bill's friends came back at the end (re:consequences). David Suchet gave a great performance as the Landlord though.

I think the Vault has definitely got something to do with the Master, probably Missy. My guess is that the Doctor needs her help in the next episode, and so lets her out. The question of why she's in the Vault, though, is an intriguing one.

I'm also still hoping to get an appearance from the 1st Doctor, Susan or both later in the series (or Christmas special). There's been too many references seeded throughout the episodes for something not to be happening with them.

My thoughts exaclty SonicR as you might see form my ealrier posting.

I saw the other day that the Daily Telegraph (UK) Reviewer gave it 4.5 stars and rated it the best epsiode of the season so far as well.

I just love the fact that us whovians have such different opinions about individual epsiodes!!! :)

The list of actors for the role of the 13th Doctor appears to have shortened:

Looks like Kris Marshall is the favourite by a country mile.

I can live with that choice.   8)

^^ I could to in a pinch but I still hold out hope that the BBC might suprise us all with someone a little more dynamic...I still harbour a lingering suspicion of CM from his My Family days. I am not sure how he would play the role but I suppose he is a safe choice.

But with stagnant and slightly falling ratings over time for the show, I would go with someone with a little more star power if I was sitting in the casting chair.

As long as he doesn't play the lovelorn nerd he did in Death in Paradise. He was getting quite embarrassing for a time. But Doctor's aren't usually known for romances are they ? <fingers crossed>.

I imagine that Kris Marshall will follow Matt Smith’s lead as The Comical Doctor.

Which is OK with me.

So long as he doesn’t reprise the Idiot character from “My Family”

I think he'd be more like Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor, complete with a crazy smile and jelly babies.  I'd be very happy if that is the case.   8)

From yesterday mornings Breakfast TV in the UK...now its gotta be either One or Susan stuck in there do you think?

Ruth and Eamonn sat down to chat with Doctor Who star Pearl Mackie, who plays companion Bill Potts.

Discussing season 10 of the beloved show, Ruth and Eamonn asked if there was a Dalek within the mysterious vault, which has been the focus of the series.

Pearl replied: "It could be loads of Dalek or it could be Doctor Who's granddaughter."

Fans took to social media to discuss their shock.

One said: "Did Pearl just let slip who's really in the Vault?"

Another added: 'Did Pearl just mean to say that on This Morning?"

The actress also skimmed over whether she would leave at the end of the current series along with Peter Capaldi.

She said: "I don't know, it's not up to me. I feel like Peter is such a wonderful Doctor and the dynamic we have works and that's not to say that it wouldn't work with a new Doctor, but there's always an adjustment."

Why would The Doctor imprison his own granddaughter?

Pearl Mackie is tossing in a Red Herring.

I still think that The Master is inside the vault.  8)

^^ Perhaps he imprisoned her to keep her safe...but yes I suspect its a red herring too.

But that Moff is a slippery one so who knows, eh? :)

A heavily edited part of Pearl's interview can be seen at:

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/doctor-who/news/a828642/pearl-mackie-doctor-who-future/

Interestingly, the bit about "loads of Daleks" was edited out of the video and there was just a reference to the Doctor's granddaughter.  I don't know if that has any significance or if it was just unfortunate editing.

Like Photon, I still think it is Missy in the vault. But could she be with one or more Daleks?  The last time we saw her she was surrounded by Daleks, maybe she was rescued by the Doctor and some Daleks came with her, either deliberately or accidentally?  The Daleks have had a major role in each series since the program's revival, but they only had an incidental role in episode 1 (The Pilot), so I believe that their main role in Series 10 is yet to come.  It may not be in Extremis, but we don't know much about future episodes, and especially the three-parter.

My what's in the vault guess.

The next Dr Who incarnation who was/is insane and needed 70 years of caring to become sane again. The most dangerous thing in the universe would be an evil Doctor and who better to guard him/her than himself?

A loony Doctor?

I quiver with fear at the thought.
