Hi Rumpole, The Twilight Zone is before my time - but I have watched a few episodes since (they were released on DVD too)

Member Posts: 4499 | Here's a good rundown of doppelgangers in popular science fiction: http://sf-encyclopedia.com/entry/doppelgangers The earliest movie with doppelgangers that I remember seeing is "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956). However, the best one I've seen is a British movie, the appropriately named "Doppelganger" (1969), starring Ian Hendry, Herbert Lom, Lyn Loring, Roy Thinnes and Patrick Wymark.

I thought The Cry was great. Looking forward to watching the next three eps. I think the poor lass is being set up by her partner and his ex. All planned from the beginning (i.e. the affair, having a baby, the partner and ex running off with the baby, and accusing Joanne of murdering it).

the ex wife had a shovel in her car, and later turned up at the shop with dirty hands. looks a bit too obvious?

Yes, I agree. She was probably digging up veggies from her veggie patch for a meal that night. She was in the shop to buy extras for the meal. The bloke was in a real hurry to get back to Australia to see his daughter, but why put the partner and baby through all that trouble of a long flight to a distant country? We are told that the baby is only 3 months, 18 days old - awfully young to go through that experience. Yep, definitely think the bloke is up to no good. The ex-wife probably can't have any more children, so she and her ex-husband have planned a surrogate birth, except the surrogate mother doesn't know she is one and has been set up. That's my take on what's happening, anyway.

It all sounds like a cross between the Chamberlain and Kellie Lane cases.

Member Posts: 4499 | This all seems very commercial of the ABC. Why don't they just place the ABC newsletters on the ABC News website and people can just download if interested. https://www.abc.net.au/news/newsletters/
