That is correct, only one deletion. The substitution of t for the n in Brenda was to guide you to the next word in the list, ie Bret--.

That's the magic word omitted from your puzzle list. Sorry I was not clear in my nudge. Over to you.

Thanks Gussy.

An insertion of two letters into this 5 letter place lets you go on a motoring holiday.

Cadia/Cadi(L)a(C)? Maybe not. Cadillac has two L's.

Thanks Rumpy.  The friend with whom I came to Australia and I did a tour of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall in her VW Motorhome.  A bit cramped but what we saw made it worth while.  Later we bought a second hand caravan together and had it situated on the quiet shore of Loch Earn in Perthshire. It was a private site on an estate and each van had a half acre.  We spent some of our hiolidays and weekends there, even when we worked 50 miles apart.  A swan called each morning for breakfast, coming knocking at the door if we had not seen him arriving.  That was where we sat reading at 11pm without a light.

Change one of the six letters of this town then rearrange them to form a part of many foods.

I'll leave you to think about this until tomorrow.  I'm off to bed now.

Goodnight Rumpy.  Sleep well.
