Look who is in trouble again!   :/

Clive Palmer has been charged over an alleged corporate ruse uncovered in an investigation by the business watchdog ASIC.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-04-06/clive-palmer-charged-by-asic-over-resort-management/9625938

I hope he does gaol time.

I agree with you Rumpy.

But, I'm sure that Clive's lawyers will be working overtime to keep him out of the slammer.

Maybe we should run a book on Clive's sentence.

I think he'll get two years suspended, after playing the old & sick card (he has form).

Did you watch the Four Corners story about the Australian Tax Office last night?

Some very disturbing stuff in that program.

The Nick Xenophon Team (NXT) will change its name to Centre Alliance.

I can’t get excited about the new name.

I wonder how long it will last now that Nick has exiled himself to South Oz.   :/

They pick on small business people without mercy, but the multinational get away with billions in tax avoidance.

Disgusting, whoever is in charge of the Tax Office should resign or be sacked.

I wonder what jail terms brother and sister will be given?  Pretty hefty ones, I imagine.

Friends in high places, probably a fine.

According to the NSW Electoral Office website:

•false statements in electoral forms including claims for enrolment and nomination papers. In relation to applying for, or casting, an iVote the maximum penalty is $11,000 and/or 2 years gaol.

Salim Mehajer has been convicted of 100 such offences, his sister pleaded guilty to 77 of them.  They're going to jail, for sure.

Mehajer should have been behind bars long ago. His election and his car crash were both arranged with criminal intent and he should get a minimum of ten years, preferably more. He is a serial offender.

Yes, I agree.  I think there is a great risk of him breaking the law again if he does not spend more time in jail.  The fact that he's appealing the convictions suggests that he feels he has not done anything wrong, which clearly is not the case. I haven't read or heard enough about the sister to have an opinion about whether or not she is a future criminal risk.  At least she pleaded guilty, unlike her brother.

Is it more than coincidence that Trump & Putin get stroppy with each other just as the investigation into Trump’s affairs gets interesting?

Does Trump dare to sack Muller ?

If he does his reputation will be in ruins, but then he doesn't have much to lose.

Following the "snake in the lunch box" comes the snake in the toybox.

Why they don't just stay snakes in the grass beats me.
