Tomorrow, 25th March marks the 92nd Birthday of Patrick Troughton the Second Doctor.. Troughton played The Doctor between between 1966 and 1969 after taking over the role from William Hartnell. I'm sure our friend Tardis001 will have some interesting stories about The Second Dotor.

I'm not a whovian but am interested to know Patrick Troughton is still alive. For me he was Soames in the original "Upstairs Downstairs",and far better than Damien Lewis in the unremarkable remake. He was also Moriarty in Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes last week and in this week's final episode. Happy Birthday to a great actor.

I should have better noted the key word "marks", thus avoiding misinterpreting your post Photon. Thank you for setting me right.

Congratulations to Bille Piper and her husband, Lawrence Fox. Billie Piper gave birth to their 2nd son last Thursday. Apparently, both mother and child are well.

Not a Birthday, but an Anniversary worth remembering. On 23rd April 1975, William Hartnell the First Doctor, passed away aged 67.

Happy birthday Joanna Lumley born 1st May 1946. She played The Doctor in The Curse of Fatal Death.

I've often thought that "Patsy" was rather "Alien" in her approach to life. However, Joanna is more than welcome to pop in for a Dr Who cameo.

Everyone's favourite redhead turned 44 today ! Happy Birthday Catherine Tate aka former Dr Who companion Donna Noble. In my humble (but always correct) opinion Donna was the Most Outstanding Companion of the Modern Whovian Era !

PS. It would be fantastic if they could "bring her back" for the 50th. 'Course they would have to work out a way to not have her go out of her mind !!!

Would love to have her back again. And Photon, your opinion is absolutely correct (in my opinion :P)

I'm sure that if the writers apply some lateral thinking they could find a safe way of bringing back Donna's memory (at least for a few hours).
After all they've brought The Master back from the dead more than once.

A belated Birthday Greeting to Arthur Darvill aka Rory Williams aka Rory The Roman. He turned 30 on Sunday, 17th June 2012.
My late farther used to say that 30 is the ideal age, because you're old enough to be taken seriously but not so old to be considered past it.

Happy Birthday Mrs Pond!
Photon, I agree with your late father's comment about 30th birthdays. As a 53-yr-old looking back, some of my most enjoyable times in life were when I was around 30. I had no mortgage, no wife, no children, enjoyed the social scene and was an ambitious career person. Now I'm looking forward to the time when I can retire (will probably have to wait 10-15 years for that to happen), the mortgage is paid, kids leave home, and perhaps to Mrs Tardis & I becoming grandparents (preferably after our kids have left home!).

" Dang it! I thought this was where you spouted off to everyone that you had a birthday coming up............bummer! " Can we assume that today is YOUR birthday Faery ? If that's the case, Many Happy Returns !!!
Live Long & Prosper Dear Faery.

Did you know that it is the birthday of some member of the DW team (past or present) most days of the year? I've counted 354 days of the year when there is a Whovian birthday. Today is the anniversary of the birthday of Kathleen Bidmead who was the production manager of several Classic Who serials in the 1980s. She's probably best known for being the production manager for Rememberance of the Daleks (1988). Kathleen has also managed several other well known British TV productions, including The Onedin Line and When the Boat Comes In.
Sadky, Kathleen passed away in 2004, aged 76.
