I'm thinking this will be very watchable - but have we already seen all thirteen episodes in the promos?

Yes, I was thinking it looks promising too Troup, but I always get put off when they overdo the promos.

OK for a chick flick, but ........... The dude doing a runner from the wedding was not believable. Now if he'd been abducted by Aliens or Terrorists or The Shooters & Fishers party...............

I enjoyed it - already want the DVD instead of waiting each week!

Well I was looking forwards to it but... What I was really digging about the promo was the music and I even went to the web page, but wasn't given a clue. Tonight I made a years supply of albondigas and settled back. Sadly the last thing I remember was people dancing at the after the notwedding party, before waking up to a dying Paul Cox, The rreally tragic bit is that I'm not convinced it was my fault. But I might go to IView if only to check out the music credits. Just love that joyful whooping, been trying it all week.

I enjoyed it too, Trouper. Not as much as The Slap, but I still enjoyed it. And Carmody, the 'genius' - especially loved that bit. I was asked to tutor a three old last year who could apparently read. I think his mother did realise, though, unlike Caroline, that he couldn't read, and I only had one session with him. I feel so sorry for Carmody though...

I liked it also even though half the episode had been screened in the promos...

I quite enjoyed it too but I felt it was a bit predictable.

I agree with you Gusset. I've seen a few comparisons with The Slap, but that show was far superior.

Yes, we knew that bloke wasn't going to marry her in the first couple of minutes - and of course William McInnes had to nick off to Sydney for a bit of R&R - but that didn't spoil my enjoyment. I do like Shane Jacobsen (dear old Kenny).

Thought last night's episode was a bit silly. Would have thought that heading off to Vietnam with just a bit of paper and an old ID number was doomed to failure but of course in TV land it doesn't work that way! The actor who plays Chai Li isn't very good, she was so wooden in some scenes last night. Maybe it's just me but the writing in this show seems to have gone downhill a bit in the past few weeks

Have to agree about TTOOL. Have enjoyed watching but have found the last couple of eps not nearly as engrossing as earlier ones. The last ep in Vietnam was particularly inplausible and not very good and yes, agree that the actor who plays Chai Li is probably the weakest link in the show - very stilted, wooden acting. The rest of the cast do a great job but am not overly fond of Claudia Karvan's, Stephen Curry's or William McInnes's characters.
Still, definitely worth watching though..

I'm actually liking the characters played by Claudia, Stephen and WIlliam more and more each week. When William's character asked Claudia's character how old her new partner was (sorry, I forget their names), I was delighted by her answer and his response. It was a such a comfortable mellowing of their angst.

Last nightwas the last episode of the first season, what did everyone think? Overall it was OK, some episodes very much stronger than others and some of the performances much weaker than others. The storyline involving the breakdown of the marriage between Matt (William McInnes) and Caroline (Claudia Karvan) was the most involving (IMHO) and I would have preferred more time spent on that than on Chai Lee and her search for her birth mother. I am also not sure if that comedy night club will ever make money given that most of the customers appeared to be family members! It wouldn't have bothered me if the ABC had decided to cancel this show, likewise I don't mind if it has been renewed!
