I have watched the Doctor since the ABC programming was Doctor Who, GTK, Bellbird. One of my earliest memories is of my brother chasing me around the house with the Washing Basket over him saying "Exterminate" and I was so little I thought there was a chance that he had actually become a Dalek. I have seen all the programs as the ABC broadcasted them.

Like the Doctor, I have grown and changed and we both have a big birthday this year. I introduced my own children to the original doctors and was delighted when he re-emerged this century - I've got to the age when I find the Brigadier quite attractive. The Doctor has been my companion in a way, he has charged my love of Science, (I studied Physics so I could be like Liz Shaw), emboldened me to remember it is not only necessary to face our 'monsters' but it can be an adventure as well (except the green slimy monter in the lighthouse, it was just funny), he has always taught me the that respect for all cultures (and species) is a foundation of integrity,and even of you get to live a very long time, it is the now and who we are with at this moment that needs to be embraced in order to live a rich and full life.
