well spotted Photon, I hadn't noticed that.
As for Caan surviving, I think we just have to accept that, like the Doctor, the Daleks will always survive.

Yes,but such an inclusion would be annoying and require an explanation as to how Caan survived the monstrosity of an episode that was Journey's End.
